Reviews for Students:

1- The app supports students in taking control of their learning by being creative in their own way. As well as connect learning objectives to learning outcomes, it enables students to their understanding of learning objectives, taking it one step further. (From an observation of the students from Marymount School in New York)
Reviews for Teachers:

1- I truly love Kahoot!, this game allows for whole class or even small group participation. In addition, there are many Kahoots already made, so usually can find one already done for you. On the flip side of that, it is incredible easy to create a Kahoot. You can use pictures, graphs, and as many answers as you'd like. It is not for higher level questions, but it is quick and easy way to analyze just where exactly your kids are with the material. (From an classroom teacher)
2- Kahoot is great tool to use excite students about review or other formative assessments. The competitive nature of the game is very engaging for most students and students get very into the competition. I sometimes have trouble having students discuss answers in more detail because they want to move on to the next question. Because it is a timed activity and pushes speed and accuracy, sometimes slower processing students can get left behind. I haven't tried the homework mode because my students don't have devices that support it, but others have told me that this mode can help with that issue. (From an educator)

VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)

Virtual reality (VR) is an interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment. It incorporates mainly auditory and visual feedback, but may also allow other types of sensory feedback. This immersive environment can be similar to the real world or it can be fantastical, to be then used for a variety of applications.
Current VR technology most commonl uses virtual reality headsets or multi-projected environments, sometimes in combination with physical environments or props, to generate realistic images, sounds and other sensations that simulate a user's physical  presence in a virtual or imaginary enironment.
A person using virtual reality equipment is able to "look around" the artificial world, move around in it, and interact with virtual features or items. The effect is commonly created by VR headsets consisting of a head-mounted display with a small screen in front of the eyes, but can also be created through specially designed rooms with multiply large screens.

This week in our instructional techologies and materials design lesson, we also tried how virtual reality works with headsets. The headsets don't necessarily need to be expensive. Indeed, the headset I used was very cheap and perform what other branded headsets capable of doing.
Our teacher, beforehand warned us that if we stand still while watching/looking around, after a minute or two, we become dizzy. He adviced us that we should be in motion while doing.
The thing I noticed that even if it was just for a couple minutes, we were excited to try it out. Some students, also, were very excited and can't stop screaming.
However, the limitation that while doing it, interaction cannot be obtained. It is restricted and limited.
But, overall, it was such an amazing experience for me. We can use it in our language classes, for example, when we teach directions, or when we want them to make narratives. So many options other than these can be found to teach to the students.
I believe that VR use in education will be helpful since it is not costly and it can motivate the students.

This is the headset that we used in our class.

My Poem
Before writing, I searched network and chose my theme lyrical miracle. The best thing about this application is that it gives you instructions and advices.
Write a lyric poem about something in your life that you consider miraculous—it could be a special memory, unexpected event, or simply the love you feel for those close to you. Write about your feelings, but be sure to not include personal information like your last name, hometown, or the name of your school.
Lyric poems use a lot of descriptive language, including similes and metaphors, to express big ideas. To review these terms, check out this guide on Lyric Poetry.
If you can’t think of a miracle that really happened, write about something you wish would happen! Maybe your lyric poem is about winning the lottery, hitting that home run, or finding a puppy in the park. Whatever the story, use these tools and start writing!
  1. Find an Image in the art library that inspires you. Click on the lightning bolt and select “Use this Art for a Longform Story” to launch the Storymaker.
  2. Write a Lyric Poem in the Longform story editor.
    1. Your poem must be at least 10 lines long.
    2. A lyric poem does NOT need to rhyme, but it must include lots of figurative language, such as metaphors, similes, and sensory details.
    3. Don't include personal identifying information. Follow these guidelines to stay safe online.
  3. Once you’ve finished writing, give your Lyric Poem a title. Make sure it will grab your reader's attention.
  4. Proofread your poem. Check your spelling and punctuation, and do a final line count.
  5. Now you’re ready to enter your Lyric Poem into the Challenge. Publish your single-page longform story and submit it!
Review: I really liked Storybird. It is because I enjoy writing so much but apart from that I also liked the idea that you can create visual supported writings is perfect. While reading the poems, stories, comics etc., you can also enjoy the pictures. This makes the storyline more imaginary.
Make sure to check out this wonderful app!
